We’re back at last!
So what are we going to talk about?
When we talked about ideas for the next event we wanted to have a debate: “eLearning is dead” or similar. We even talked about ditching the “e” to become WeLearning. But after a while I realised that wasn’t as controversial, or interesting as I first thought. In fact it was just plain wrong.
eLearning isn’t dead, it’s thriving, it’s spreading, growing and evolving.
The problem lies with our perception and the experiences we associate with the word.
So what’s the answer? Do we need a new word? Maybe. But semantics and etymology bore the hell out of most people and the industry around the word is too well established to change it anyway.
Instead, let’s celebrate the diversity of all that we do that comes under the banner of eLearning. This month’s weeLearning is an open invitation to tell the world…
- What does eLearning mean to you?
- What do you love about it?
- What are you doing with eLearning that excites you?
- What’s the most exciting use of eLearning you’ve seen lately?
Come and share your stories in an open forum. You don’t have to do slides or anything formal, just pitch up and say what you think. If you can’t join us in person why not write a blog post?
I’ll be talking about an immersive business simulation I helped to organise that restored my faith and changed my perception of eLearning.
