weeLearning Glos: 27th June 6-8pm

Do you work in Elearning in Gloucestershire?

Join us for the second meeting of weeLearning Glos organised by Little Man Project in association with weeLearning.

Background

Like weeLearning Bristol our aim is to bring together people working in elearning.  This might be those working in its development, providing services to the industry, those responsible for buying these types of resources or those delivery training in the classroom using technology.     What will be slightly different about Weelearning Glos is that it will focus on making strong connections with each other, think networking event but without the hard sell.

This meeting

The meeting with start with some informal networking.  If you don’t know anyone when you arrive find Gill Chester (picture available on about.me) and she will introduce you to a few people to get you started.

After a bit, everyone will be asked to do a quick introduction so we know where you are from and what you do.  Martin Baker from Charity Learning Consortium is going to talk briefly about Global Giveback an initiative to generage learning materials for the charitable sector.  We will then have some time for questions and discussion before going back to chatting.

Venue

Please note the change of venue:  The meeting will now be held at The Market Tavern in Stroud.  The address is 2 Union Street, Stroud, Glos, GL5 2HE.  No website but they do have a facebook page.

The pub will be serving food.

Parking
Parking is available on Parliment Street (GL5 2HL) or on the London Road just after Waitrose (GL5 2AU).  Both are a few minutes walk from the venue.

Train
Stroud Train station is five minutes walk – Google directions available here

  1. I’m interested in coming along on the 27th but I’m not familiar with the Markey Tavern – Is the meeting in a wheelchair accessible room?

    • Sam Burrough says:

Hi Steve – just waiting for the venue to get back to us with an answer to your question. We’ll post on here as soon as we hear back. thanks Sam

    • Gill Chester says:

Hi Steve, we’ve checked with the venue and there are two steps to get into the back area. If you call me someone can come out to give you a hand. Once inside there should be no issue. I’m sorry this isn’t ideal and if it is a pain we will look for an alternative venue for future meetings. I’ll email you my mobile number.

      Gill

  2. Steve Jeans-Laws says:

Thanks Sam / Gill. I’ve registered and am looking forward to meeting everyone.

  3. Luciany says:

I’m interested. When you have an online meeting?

    • Sam Burrough says:

Perhaps ironically, we don’t actually do online meetings! Not so far anyway. weeLearning is about meeting up face to face and the more traditional side of social interaction. We’re not against online meetings, but there are plenty of those going on all the time. We’re a bit niche and we like it that way!

      Thanks for your interest though.
