A big thanks to the small but hardy group of dedicated learning technology professionals who braved the damp, dark of a bleak mid-winter evening for the second weelearning, again sponsored by Packt Publishing.

The value of conversation at the speed of face-to-face once again proved itself as debate wandered far and wide – from the timely discussion of just which conferences are worth attending (PELeCON is a popular choice, Online Educa got a surprise drubbing and next week’s Learning Technologies is looked forward to by more than a few of us!) to why RSS still beats Twitter, from why Stroud is a sleeping giant in the learning tech field to the ethics of using Firefox’s web developer extension to bypass the Wikipedia blackout (it was wrong, dammit!)

Thanks to the generosity of Packt Publishing, we were once again able to hold a draw. This time our lucky winners were learning design wiz Gill Chester, the doubly lucky Zak Mensah and surnameless nice guy Tim who all received books and man-with-many-interests Martin Couzins has extra reasons to be cheerful now with a subscription to the excellent online elearning library!

Technical problems in the subterranean venue restricted our full Twitter participation, but that only served to keep the focus on conversation. We even were gifted table service by the very helpful Kimberly at the Bristol Ram! Again the feedback has been positive and so Sam and Dan are putting together plans for more weelearnings this year. Watch this space.
